I am 81 years old, a veteran of the Korean War. I am a member of several veteran associations, still serving my country in a small way. My wife and I have lived in this house for more than 50 years. A few months ago I accidentally left my garage door up overnight. Someone relieved me off all my fishing gear and two cases of Coke. I figured I was lucky that's all they took. Said a prayer for them and me and, with the help of my children and grandchildren, replaced the fishing gear.

During the winter months, my daughter and her family built me a flower bed in my front yard. We were filling the bed with flowers a few at a time. On March 8, someone stole some of the best-looking plants. Now I have found out I am not the only one in the neighborhood that has had plants stolen. One person told me someone had stolen 20 of her established plants.

I would like for someone to tell me what kind of scum it takes to steal a $2 plant out of someone's yard.
