Warm weekend ahead for Modesto, followed by rain

MODESTO -- It’s looking like another sunny and warm day ahead for the Northern San Joaquin Valley. After a beautiful weekend, however, Mother Nature could have some wet stuff in store for us.

Today is expected to be partly cloudy, with a high of 79 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The weekend looks sunny and warm, with temperatures just a bit lower than today.

Next week, though, a storm system will move in, bringing lower temperatures and a chance of badly needed rain. Look for increasing clouds Tuesday night with rain possible that night and showers likely Wednesday.
