A Modesto man died late Tuesday in a solo-vehicle collision in west Modesto.
Eduardo Cervantes, 31, was driving east on Woodland Avenue west of Highway 99 about 11 p.m. when for unknown reasons he turned his Chevrolet to the right, according to the California Highway Patrol. It hopped a curb and went through some bushes, continued through Graphics Drive and collided with a traffic signal and a concrete wall at the southeast corner of the intersection, according to the CHP.
Upon impact, Cervantes, who was not wearing a seat belt, was partially ejected through the windshield. He was taken by ambulance to Doctors Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
