Food, wine event benefits school

The inaugural Modesto Food and Wine Pairing will take place Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. on the campus of Grace Lutheran School.

The event features Modesto chefs, restaurants and caterers serving their creations paired with wines and beers.

Participating restaurants and caterers include Verona's, Vito's, Concetta, Fuzio, Tresetti's, O'Brien's Catering, Greens Table, Village Baking Co., Hero's, Skewers, Michael's Pizza, Berries by Marlene, Low Country Catering, Redwood Cafe-Vintage Gardens and Christian Taylor. Wineries and breweries include Michael David, Root 1, Charles Smith, Kenwood, Bogle, St. Stan's, Bronco, Gnarly Head, Irony and Morgan.

Tickets are $35. This is being planned as an annual event and all money raised will be used to benefit the students at Grace Lutheran School through the parent-teacher organization.
