'Grease'

Set in the 1950s with a rockin' score, "Grease" centers on the rocky high school romance between good girl Sandy and bad boy Danny. Modesto Junior College presents the show with a cast of 40 and a full band. Featuring such hits as "You're the One That I Want," "Hopelessly Devoted to You" and "Summer Lovin'," "Grease" follows a group of high school friends in its senior year.

Viva Italia!

The Modesto Symphony Orchestra presents the pops concert "Viva Italia!" featuring the vocal group Poperazzi. The dynamic Las Vegas-based trio will take the audience on a tour of music by Italians and Italian-Americans. The musical selections include operatic arias, music from "The Godfather" and tributes to Mario Lanza, Luciano Pavarotti, Frank Sinatra and Frankie Valli.

Brett Dennen returns

Nationally known folk-pop singer and Oakdale native Brett Dennen performs a benefit concert for Camp Jack Hazard for the second year in a row, this time with Oakdale band The Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit. Dennen, 33, has opened for John Mayer and worked with Natalie Merchant, Jason Mraz and Dave Matthews. He has played Bonaroo, Austin City Limits, Coachella, Outside Lands and the Newport Folk Festival. His music has been featured on the TV shows "Scrubs," "Grey's Anatomy," "Parenthood," "Brothers and Sisters," "House" and more.

Camellia Show

The Camellia Society of Modesto's 52nd annual Camellia Show blooms this weekend with two days of viewing at the E.&J. Gallo Winery administration building. The show promises thousands of the flowering plants on display with 200 for sale.

Lucky Fest

Shamrocks will be shaking in downtown Modesto as the annual Lucky Fest pub crawl returns Saturday. The St. Patrick's Day-themed megaparty, now in its third year, is billed as the largest St. Paddy's pub crawl in Northern California. There will be 25 pubs, all built from the ground up. Beer, food and plenty of entertainment, from comedy to music and more, will be available. A large portion of the festival will be held beneath an 18,000-square-foot tent.

Walter Trout

International blues guitarist Walter Trout displays his talent to audiences at Black Oak Casino tonight.
