-- The Stanislaus County Board of Education will meet at 8:30 a.m. today at the Stanislaus County Office of Education board room, 1100 H St. Trustees will hear reports on school safety, the Lemonade Stand program and a budget update. The board also will discuss a possible raise for Stanislaus County Superintendent Tom Changnon, based on a salary comparison showing his $186,000 annual compensation is the lowest of medium-size counties. VALLEY HOME TO MEET: The Valley Home Joint School District board will meet at 6 p.m. today in the school gymnasium, 13231 Pioneer Ave., Valley Home. No agenda was available.

HUGHSON TO MEET: The Hughson Unified School District Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. today at the district office, 6815 Hughson Ave., Hughson. Trustees will vote on rescheduling election of board members, coaching contracts and hiring a full-time band teacher for next year. They will consider layoffs of preschool teachers. CERES TO MEET: The Ceres Unified School District Board will meet at 7 p.m. today in the district boardroom, 2503 Lawrence St. Trustees will vote on raising all employee salaries 2.5 percent retroactively for the 2012-13 school year, an estimated $1.5 million annual cost. The agenda report notes Ceres staff took an 8.5 percent cut in 2010. The board will consider refinancing a bond to save an estimated $10 million over its life. SUMMERVILLE TO MEET: The Summerville Union High School District board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Summerville High library, 17555 Tuolumne Road, Tuolumne City. The board will consider project time lines, hiring an architect, contracts for topography and boundary surveys, and geotechnical engineering services. Trustees will select community members for the bond Citizens Oversight Committee.
