TURLOCK - Turlock residents near their TVs can tune in today to see one of their own making her debut on the cooking show “Sabores de Familia.”

Turlock native Susie Jimenez is a new member of the cast of the popular Spanish-language cooking series “Sabores de Familia” on Utilisima. The Spanish Fox-affiliated network is available to Charter Communications digital subscribers on channel 266. The station is currently not available to Comcast customers.

The series, which translates to “Family Flavors,” features a panel of female hosts sharing simple, traditional homemade Latin American recipes. Now in its fifth season, the series has a new host this year, Mexican model and host Patricia Lopez, and new cast of female cooks. It debuts at 6:30 p.m. today on Utilisima and will air daily during the week.

Jimenez attended Turlock High and in 2011 was the runner up on the reality competition “Food Network Star.” Since leaving Turlock, Jimenez graduated from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco. She then moved to Colorado where she ran a successful catering company. And she will soon open the restaurant Trenza in Houston.
