TURLOCK -- The Stanislaus County Fair was nominated for a national social media award thanks to its Twitter marketing campaign.
The fair is a finalist in the PR News for the Social Media Icon Awards in the "Twitter: Marketing Campaign" category. The awards honor the best social media usage from Twitter to Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest in 32 categories. Other nominees include international corporations like Wal-Mart, Taco Bell, Bank of America and Cisco Systems and Bank of America.
The Stanislaus County Fair is nominated for its "Imagine the Fun" Twitter campaign. It is competing in its category against Intersport (Where's The Blue Hat Taking You? campaign), National Geographic Channel (Chasing UFOs, The Wow! campaign) and Weber Shandwick -(American Airlines Socializes New In-Flight Entertainment Offering campaign).
PR News, a leading national public relations publication. This is the inaugural year for the Social Media Icon Awards. The awards will be handed out at a luncheon April 17 at The Grand Hyatt in New York City.
Stanislaus County Fair CEO Chris Borovansky said in a statement that, "I am very proud of our marketing team at the Fair who is always thinking outside the box. To be a finalist is an honor and I will be sending our Marketing Director to New York."
