-- In honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, Fuller School participated in National Read Across America Week.

Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for children in every community to celebrate reading on or near March 2, the birthday of beloved children’s author Theodor Seuss Geisel.

The week was all about promoting literacy. Guest readers like Chowchilla Police Chief Jay Varney shared Dr. Seuss with first- and second-grade students at Fuller School last Friday.

Many of the students, like the ones pictured above in Room 16, wore Dr. Seuss hats to celebrate the day. Among the popular Dr. Seuss books read were ‘The Lorax’ — which Chief Varney read to Mrs.Miller’s first-grade class — and ‘Green Eggs and Ham.’
