Salida won't want to give up welfare

I find it no surprise that the Salida Municipal Advisory Council voted to oppose annexation to Modesto. Just like a welfare recipient who doesn't want their cushy ride taken away, Salida is collecting $2.5 million in subsidized services. That could be 20+ more sheriff's deputies if Stanislaus County, and every citizen, was not paying for Salida.

I don't care whether they get annexed, or make their own city, or stay as they are. I do care that I have fewer sheriffs in my area because Salida is on welfare.
