TURLOCK — A 29-year-old man from Ballico died early Sunday after his pickup left the road and overturned several times outside Turlock.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the man, whose name has not been released, was driving south on Santa Fe Avenue near East Avenue when his 2000 Chevrolet Silverado went off the east side of the road.
The accident occurred at 3:17 a.m. The truck hit a barbed-wire fence, then overturned several times.
The man, who was alone in his vehicle, was ejected onto the shoulder of the road. The truck came to rest on its wheels.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the accident, the CHP said.
