We spend too much on felons

I am grateful that 2,400 jobs are on the way (Feb. 23, Page A-1) that will cost taxpayers $220 million yearly for "around the clock treatment for convicted felons with chronic and mental health problems." This shows that we are a caring society, one that apparently cares more for its felons than its elderly, poor and disabled.

Call me Scrooge but as long as one senior citizen gets bumped because a convicted rapist or child molester needs his heart medication, all I can say is, "Bah! Humbug!"
