• TEEN VIDEO CONTEST

Info: Teens age 13 to 18 can participate in the Check In @ Your Library Teen Video Contest by submitting a short video about their favorite book by March 9 at 5 p.m. First-, second- and third-place prizes of $250, $150 and $100 gift cards will be awarded at a special reception for all contestants at the Modesto Library on March 16 at noon. Where: Modesto Junior College East Campus, Forum 110, 435 College Ave.

Info: The Modesto Junior College Civic Engagement Project film and lecture series will offer a free showing of the film "Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide." The presentation is free, open to the public and will be followed by a discussion. Campus parking passes are $1.
