STOCKTON -- Three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart will be racing at the new Stockton 99 Speedway on March 22, the track announced Wednesday.
Stewart will be competing in the World of Outlaws event on the track's new dirt track at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds. It will be the first race held on the new dirt course, which was built within the confines of the horse race track.
Stewart participates throughout the year at venues he can incorporate into his busy NASCAR schedule, which will include a busy week in Fontana with his qualifying and racing in the Auto Club 400.
Undoubtedly, Itll be a busy Friday in California," said in a news release. "Well be qualifying our Cup car before heading up to Stockton to mix it up with the Outlaws. This will be my first time racing my winged sprint car in the state of California. Im passionate about grassroots racing. Its in my blood. I grew up racing midgets and sprint cars in the USAC Series. Theres no place Id rather be than at a race track on a Friday night.
Im looking forward to hopefully seeing a packed house of passionate Northern California dirt fans at Stockton (in March).
