Salida won't benefit from annexation

As for the Salida growth plan, an overwhelming majority of the residents did not approve of it.

Annexation of Salida by Modesto? Actual concerns for the residents of Salida? Sounds like more hogwash and lies. You talk about doubling the residents of Salida, bringing in businesses to boost the tax base, and that benefits who? There is no mention of any benefits to Salida. I only read about Modesto's benefits.

We see how well Modesto cares for its industrial park. Will Salida receive the same care after 10 or 20 years? As for the water issue, Salida has its own sanitation department, thank you. Mayor Garrad Marsh has stated numerous times his police department is as lean as it can be. How would that that make me feel better about my family's safety if annexed to Modesto?

Regardless of what others say, Sheriff Adam Christianson and staff have done an outstanding job protecting Salida residents and we thank them. Just in case it doesn't show, I am against annexation by Modesto.
