Modesto council to hold workshop on strategic plan

The Modesto City Council will hold a workshop Friday as part of updating the city's strategic plan.

The workshop is from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the King-Kennedy Memorial Center, 601 S. Martin Luther King Drive.

The public will have a chance to comment at the beginning of the workshop.

The strategic plan serves as the foundation for how the city allocates its resources.

City Manager Greg Nyhoff expects the update will be used as a guide when the city puts together its 2013-14 budget, which starts July 1.

Nyhoff said as part of updating the strategic plan, the city will hold a communitywide forum where the public can weigh in.

Modesto Bee is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point.
