Modesto's Girl Scout Troop 2225, competing in the national Future City engineering contest in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, took a bow for creating the city with the most innovative design of infrastructure system.
This special award was judged and presented by the American Society of Civil Engineers, said regional contest volunteer Rapunzel Amador Lewis.
The 10-member troop won the Northern California contest with its vision for Vintage Grove, a city of clean energy, integrated agriculture and storm water recycling.
