I am writing on behalf of the Stanislaus- Merced Building Trades Council regarding the protest that was staged in Patterson by carpenters from Local 152. This action was not and is not endorsed by the delegates of our council, with which the carpenters are not affiliated.
The majority of the crafts that are at the Patterson Amazon facility are local contractors or contractors that will use local hiring halls for manpower.
However, there are some out-of-state contractors who will bring their own labor force, meaning that they will not use local workers and those wages will not stay in our community.
