-- A 27-year-old who ran away during a traffic stop might have had good reason: According to Turlock police, Brandon Boweloyd's car contained burglary tools, narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

An officer stopped Boweloyd for a traffic violation at Main and Grant streets at 11:23 p.m. Sunday.

According to reports, Boweloyd ran away shortly after he was stopped. Officers caught him after a brief chase. Because Boweloyd was on active probation, officers could search his car.

When they did, they found the burglary tools and drugs.

He was booked at the Stanislaus County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of burglary tools, as well as on an active burglary warrant.
