MERCED SUN-STAR

— As they did two years ago, the San Francisco Giants are sharing their World Series trophy with fans throughout California, and today's stop is in Modesto.

The World Championship Trophy Tour makes its appearance today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Modesto Centre Plaza. The viewings are free, but there's a suggested donation of $2 per person to the local Junior Giants League.

If you miss tonight's event, the tour will stop in Atwater on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Atwater Community Center.

Fans can buy a commemorative photo at each stop.

Fans are advised to arrive early, as there have been long lines at previous stops.
