Modesto council holds two special meetings

The Modesto City Council holds two special meetings this week: A joint study session with the Planning Commission at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Tenth Street Place to talk about long-term growth and a goal-setting workshop at 8:30 a.m. Friday in the King- Kennedy Memorial Center, 601 S. Martin Luther King Drive. Both are public.

• Neither the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors nor the Modesto Irrigation District board meets this week.
