Police seek man in bikejacking

MODESTO -- Modesto police are looking for a man with distinctive tattoos who robbed a man of his bicycle by pushing him off it Friday.

The robbery happened near Modesto Junior College at Stoddard and College avenues about 10:40 a.m., said Lt. Scott Blom.

The victim was in motion on his green and white Trek mountain bike when the man ran up to him and pushed him off. The man then grabbed the bicycle and rode away.

The man is described as a Latino in his early 20s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 140 pounds. He has tattoos of the area code 209 on his neck and stars near his eye, Blom said.
