The Modesto Marathon's fourth annual Movie and Wine Night will be held Saturday at the State Theatre, 1307 J St.
Doors open at 5 p.m. and the movie shows at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.
In addition to this year's feature, "Dear Chelsey," there will be a silent auction, wine tasting, martini tasting, and food provided by Uno Chicago Grill and Papa John's Pizza.
"Dear Chelsey" is a documentary featuring Kevin Kline, a radio personality in Houston who befriended 15-year-old cancer patient Chelsey Campbell.
When Kline learned that Campbell was facing a "marathon" surgery associated with her disease, he promised he'd run a marathon to show his support.
The encounter changed Kline's life. He soon took his running to another level and decided to run across the Lone Star State 482 miles in 13 days raising money and awareness in the fight against cancer. He continues his ultramarathon running to fight cancer.
Kline not will only be at the screening Saturday night, he'll be running that morning with runners who will be making their first 20-mile training run in preparation for the March 24 marathon.
