Salida a city? It's worth discussing

Opponents of Mayor Garrad Marsh's proposal to annex Salida to Modesto have renewed the discussion of whether the town can incorporate as a city.

There really are three options for Salida: incorporate, annex or remain as an unincorporated town under the jurisdiction of Stanislaus County.

The city-county study only looked at the latter two, but all three alternatives need to be on the table so that Salidans can study and discuss the pros, cons, costs and likelihood of each option.
