Los Lobos

The band Los Lobos is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Formed in East Los Angeles, the group performs an eclectic mix of Mexican songs, R&B, blues, rock and country. The group became famous with its 1987 hit cover of Ritchie Valens' 1950s-set rock hit "La Bamba," which was featured in the film of the same name.

Molly Hatchet

Southern metal band Molly Hatchet gained fame in the 1970s for its hit album and song "Flirting With Disaster." The band took its name after a legendary Southern prostitute who beheaded some of her clients. The band's latest album, "Regrinding the Axes," came out last year.

Marilyn Manson

Marilyn Manson was one of the most notorious and controversial entertainers of the 1990s. Following in the footsteps of Alice Cooper, he created a creepy stage persona designed to entrance teens and shock their parents. His hits include "The Dope Show," "Beautiful People" and a cover of the 1980s Eurythmics hit "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)." He was nominated this year for a Grammy Award for best hard rock/metal performance for his song "No Reflection."

Yesterday Once More

"Yesterday Once More — a Musical Tribute to The Carpenters" features hits songs from Richard and Karen Carpenter like "We've Only Just Begun," "Rainy Days and Mondays" and "Close to You." Balanchine and New Works

Central West Ballet presents "Balanchine and New Works," featuring a performance of the first movement of legendary choreographer George Balanchine's ballet "Serenade" and original works by company members Alyssa Milano, Erikka Reenstierna-Cates and Nicole Firpo and former company member Adelina Milano. Hotel California
