Modesto event looks at human trafficking

MODESTO -- A free event for parents, students and community members, "Training of Heroes: Combating Human Trafficking & Exploitation in Stanislaus County," will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Petersen Event Center, 720 12th St., Modesto.

The Stanislaus County Officeof Education, Without Permission and the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department are hosts of the event. Speakers will address identification of trafficking cases, prosecution and caring for survivors.
