Modesto patrols target impaired drivers

Police will look for drunken drivers Saturday night with saturation patrols throughout Modesto.

The roving patrols from the Modesto Police Department are made up of officers assigned solely to look for drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The patrols will focus on areas with high frequencies of DUI crashes or arrests.

The patrols are funded by a grant from the state Office of Traffic Safety.
