Fire damages pool house in Modesto

MODESTO -- A fire damaged the pool house at a home at 900 Brady Ave. about 8 p.m. Saturday.

Modesto Regional Fire Authority Battalion Chief Hugo Patino said the residents weren't home when the fire broke out. He said the fire didn't spread to the main house.

Firefighters were on scene within a few minutes and had the fire out within about 30 minutes. Patino said an investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing.

The Spanish-style house at Brady and Griswold avenues has a detached garage and second-floor pool house above it, which is where the fire broke out, Patino said.

Fire crews were leaving the area by 9:30 p.m. Patino said PG&E was called in to isolate the main house's utilities from the burned structure so the residents could stay in their home.
