CCR tribute band coming to Stanislaus County Fair

TURLOCK -- Creedence Clearwater Revisited will perform at the Stanislaus County Fair this year, fair officials announced Thursday.

The band, which features two original members of Creedence Clearwater Revival, will play July 14.

Stu Cook and Doug “Cosmo” Clifford, the bassist and drummer, respectively, from Creedence Clearwater Revival, created the tribute band in 1995 to perform CCR’s hits live.

The group originally planned to just play private parties. Creedence Clearwater Revisited now performs up to 100 shows a year and released an album, “Recollection.”

The 2013 Stanislaus County Fair opens July 12 for a 10-day run.
