Placer lineman Vanderdoes selects Notre Dame

SACRAMENTO -- Eddie Vanderdoes ended months of national recruiting speculation when he announced Wednesday that he will attend Notre Dame on a football scholarship.

The Placer High School 6-foot-3, 303-pound senior defensive end, viewed as a national top 10 prospect, made his decision known during a ceremony on the Auburn campus in front of media, family, friends and classmates.

Vanderdoes also considered UCLA, USC, Washington and Alabama.
