Popular Oakdale band Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit kicks off an all-Americana program in the State Theatre's new local music series. Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit has performed at the Strawberry Music Festival, as well as the Great American Music Hall, Slim's and the Independent in San Francisco. Other bands on the program are San Francisco's Pine Box Boys and Modesto's House of Orange.

Grace

Modesto entertainer Grace Lieberman performs her annual Valentine's concert with her friends as part of the Sunday Afternoons at CBS series. This year's roster features baritone Joseph Wiggett, voice professor at California State University, Stanislaus, and artistic director at Townsend Opera; pianists Darrel Lingenfelter and Darrell Tucker; singer Francesca Bavaro, winner of the 2011 Valley's Got Talent contest; and singer Gregory Pyatt and pianist Heath Rojas, both prize winners in the 2012 Valley's Got Talent contest. Also appearing will be singer/actress Krista Serpa, who played Maria in Modesto Performing Arts' "The Sound of Music"; guitarist and singer Anthony Edward; performer Mark Haskett; and tenor Jacob Bronson.

'God of Carnage'

Prospect Theater Project presents the dark comedy "God of Carnage," winner of the 2009 Tony Award for best play. The show follows a meeting between two sets of parents following a playground altercation between 11-year-old boys. It centers on the tension between the civilized surface and savage instinct. This production is directed by Jack Souza and features cast members Kathleen Ennis, Christopher Volkerts, Megan Cardenas and Mark Dooley. The 2011 film version, "Carnage," was directed by Roman Polanski and stars Jodie Foster, Kate Winslet, Christoph Waltz and John C. Reilly.

Choo-Choo Soul

Choo-Choo Soul, a hip-hop children's duo seen in videos on the Disney Jr. channel, returns to the Gallo Center. Featuring Genevieve Goings as a singing train conductor and Constantine "DC" Abramson as a dancing engineer, the duo performs soulful music for the preschool set about ABCs, 1-2-3's and learning how to be polite. The group says it performs "kids music that won't drive parents crazy." Goings said the group offers "a whole lot of dancing and fun. We are the people you see on TV times 10." The show lasts about an hour and is targeted for toddlers and up.

Modesto Symphony Orchestra

Fifteen-year-old Chicago violinist Ade Williams solos in the Modesto Symphony Orchestra's performance of Antonio Vivaldi's famed "Four Seasons." The piece is the highlight of a Baroque period program, which also features Vivaldi's Concerto in D Minor, Luigi Boccherini's "La Musica Delle Strade de Madrid," Henry Purcell's Chacony in G Minor and Johann Pachelbel's beloved Canon.
