Man sought after baseball bat attack in Modesto

MODESTO -- Modesto police are looking for a 26-year-old man accused of attacking his ex-wife's boyfriend.

According to Lt. Jolene Gonzales, Christopher Tuquero went to the home in the 700 block of South Conejo Avenue and took his children without their mother's permission. The woman asked Tuquero to return the children, which he did.

When he arrived, Tuquero saw the woman's new boyfriend. "The guy is acting like, 'We're all adults,' and he reaches out to shake the new boyfriend's hand," Gonzales said.

Then Tuquero reportedly started punching the man in the face with his other hand. Tuquero delivered about 10 punches, then got a metal baseball bat and continued the attack, witnesses said. He struck another person who tried to stop the assault, Gonzales said.

Neither victim required medical attention. Tuquero is wanted on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
