Congressman to speak on King at Modesto Junior College

Congressman John Lewis will speak Saturday on "King's Spirit Today" at the Modesto Junior College 2013 Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration.

The free community event will be held at 7 p.m. at the Mary Stuart Rogers Student Learning Center on Modesto Junior College, West Campus, 2201 Blue Gum Ave.

The evening will include inspirational music and the presentation of the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Legacy Award.

Lewis was one of the leaders in the American civil rights movement. The public is invited to a meet-and-greet reception for the Congressman from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the King-Kennedy Memorial Center, 601 S. Martin Luther King Drive in Modesto.
