Stanislaus County authorities on lookout for Honor Farm escapee

— Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department deputies are looking for a man who escaped the Honor Farm near Grayson, authorities said.

The escapee, Many Ros, 46, of Modesto, and Michael Phan, 35, of San Jose, jumped off the roof of the clothing room at about 5:35 p.m. and fled toward the San Joaquin River, according to Sgt. Anthony Bejaran.

Ros was in custody for possession of a controlled substance and Phan was in for possession of stolen property and violation of parole.

Bejaran said Ros was able to swim to the south bank and got away. Phan made it to the south bank but became unresponsive. With the help of a rescue boat, authorities got to Phan. He was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for nonlife-threatening injuries.
