The Sac-Joaquin Section released its first girls basketball power ratings today and several area teams are ranked among the top five teams in their respective divisions.

Gregori High is ranked third in the Division II rankings, Modesto Christian is ranked fourth in Division III, and Turlock Christian, Ripon Christian and Central Catholic are ranked second through fourth, respectively in Division V.

Sixteen teams qualify for the postseason in Divisions I through IV; 12 in D-V and eight in D-VI. Under a new section rule, if a team wins at least 15 games and does not qualify for the tournament by the power rating system, that team will be added to the tournament.
