Banning weapons will not help

I am tired of seeing Democrats screaming "ban the gun" and it was disturbing to see President Barack Obama using children as human shields. Look at Chicago. They banned handguns two years ago; now over 400 deaths and the crime rate's still rising. Why don't they admit banning handguns was a mistake?

Obama was a senator of Illinois for years and he still hasn't learned. I and many people are not as rich as Obama, Democrats and Hollywood celebrities. They can afford armed guards, install high fences and top-end security. We can't depend on government.

They need to look at the bigger picture and stop focusing on guns. Put more police on the streets, install video cameras everywhere if they can and provide treatment centers for people who suffer from mental illness. Perfect example is drunk driving — it was 26,000 deaths and now is 11,000 deaths. Big difference. That's because they enforced drunk driving laws.

The gun is a tool for home defense, hunting, target practice and preventing the tyrants from taking over our country. Banning the gun will never solve the problem. Thieves, criminals, drug dealers, illegal gun traders and mental illnesses are here to stay.
