Wasn't agency's fault we lost call center

Thank you for the article "Stanislaus County passed over for call center" (Jan. 19, Page A-1).

I want to reiterate that there did not appear to be any clear rhyme or reason why the California Health Benefit Exchange chose to award the contract to Contra Costa County instead of Stanislaus. It was hoped that this contract would have created 250 to 300 jobs in Stanislaus County.

Staff who worked tirelessly toward exploring this partnership with the exchange, though disappointed, have every reason to hold their heads high and are to be commended for this endeavor.

Stanislaus County's Community Services Agency is an agency any community would be proud of. Dedicated staff work each and every day to meet the needs of the community and look for new and creative ways to meet demands despite ever increasing challenges and constant change. Stanislaus County still strives to be the best county in America and CSA is second to none.
