RIPON -- A 17-year-old girl was arrested in an Internet prostitution sting by the Ripon Police Department on Wednesday.
Police conducted the sting at an undisclosed motel after detectives contacted subjects on an "escort" website.
According to police, the escorts "brazenly" offered sexual services for money.
The 17-year-old girl was advertising her services on a popular site and arranged to meet an undercover officer at the motel. After speaking to an undercover officer, she was taken into custody for prostitution and drug possession.
She was released on a misdemeanor citation to her parent. The Police Department said it will continue to target prostitution with a combination of patrol-based and special operations-based enforcement.
