Stanislaus sheriff's officials seek witness in Modesto shooting death

Stanislaus County sheriff's officials on Wednesday were looking for a man who is believed to be a witness in the shooting death of a Modesto teenager three weeks ago.

Sheriff's detectives would like to speak with James Allen Dixon, 49, a witness in the Jan. 2 death of 17-year-old Marty Kent, who was shot outside his house in the 900 block of Leon Avenue in west Modesto.

Authorities last week arrested Demaris Hunter, 33, and Richard Lionheart Teputepu, 19, as suspects in the homicide.

Sheriff's officials ask anyone with information about Dixon's whereabouts to call Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636.
