City of Modesto to accept grant proposals

The city of Modesto will offer about $155,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds for public services to benefit low- and moderate-income people and $160,000 in Emergency Solutions Grant funds for emergency shelter, street outreach, homelessness prevention and rapid rehousing for fiscal year 2013 (July 1, 2013, through June 30, 2014).

A request for proposals will be posted Monday on the city's website, www.modestogov.com.

Prerequisite workshops will be held Monday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the City Council chamber in the basement level at Tenth Street Place, 1010 10th St. Only one session must be attended.
