Come on, people, get responsible for your animals. Have you been to the shelters or picked up a newspaper? Always stories about overcrowding and euthanizing dogs and cats that are adoptable. Go to the shelter and look into all their little eyes. All they want is love, food and a warm bed.

All of us need to get involved. Make sure sellers have the required license to sell these pets and owners get their animals fixed. They have low-cost options at the local shelter for seniors and other pet owners.

Also, why does the Riverbank council have to talk about funding their part for the shelter when they get the service? It shouldn't be a question.

And why do dogs have to be shot when they're only protecting their owners or what they have been trained to do? Can't something else be done?

And dogs don't bite unless someone is doing something to them. And don't forget about all other animals left to starve, such as horses.

These little animals have no voice. Help any way you can.
