MODESTO — Christian Public Servants annually awards several $500 to $750 scholarships to qualifying students who plan to have a career in public service.
The scholarships are in honor of late former Modesto City Schools board member John L. Hollis.
Recipients must be seniors in high school, recent high school graduates or undergraduate college students with a declared intention of preparing for a career in public service, such as teaching, law enforcement, fire safety, nursing, public administration or political science.
Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement (a minimum 3.0 grade-point average is required), participation in church and-or other Christian ministries and community service.
Applications are due March 15. For more information, call Nancy Cline at (209) 324-1517 or e-mail email@example.com.
