Columbia suffers first CVC loss in men's basketball

VISALIA -- Sequoias (13-7, 2-1) used its height advantage, featuring 6-foot-6 Germany native Bill Borekambi (23 points), to hand the Columbia men's basketball team (7-10, 2-1) their first Central Valley Conference loss 84-61 Wednesday night in Visalia.

Point guard Jarron Crump scored 13 points to lead the Claim Jumpers, who stayed even until it gave up the final nine points of the first half. Former Turlock star Ashton Richardson had 10 points for Columbia.
