Modesto homeowners fail to remove debris from home

MODESTO -- Two brothers who own a Modesto home that has become a neighborhood eyesore after a July fire failed to meet Monday's city deadline to remove the debris and junk from their home's front and side yards.

Brad and Greg Jarrell have placed a temporary cyclone fence around their home at 1030 Huntington Drive.

The city has a code enforcement action against the Jarrells. The brothers also have until Feb. 4 to repair the fire damage to their home.

City officials have declined to comment at length about the next steps they will take because they have an active code enforcement action against the Jarrells.
