Shorter hours at Stanislaus County court clerk office

MODESTO -- Ever-dwindling hours for processing paperwork at Stanislaus County Superior Court are about to shrink again.

Starting Feb. 8, court clerk windows will close at noon on Fridays instead of at 3 p.m. Hours Monday through Thursday will remain the same,8 a.m. to 3 p.m. with no service from noon to 1 p.m. The court's website blames "ongoing and anticipated reductions in the court's budget." Telephones won't be answered when windows are closed.
