-- The Modesto Institute for Continued Learning, a community of lifelong learners affiliated with Modesto Junior College, invites senior citizens who are looking for a fun learning program to attend an informational meeting at 10 a.m. Thursday in the MICL classroom, Building 6000 on MJC's west campus.

The schedule of not-for-credit classes for the 2013 winter semester will be presented, there will be a chance to register and refreshments will be served.

The classes, beginning Jan. 21, include "Travels Around the World," "Play Reading," "Young at Heart" (fitness for older adults), "Beginning Spanish for Seniors," "Bird Identification," "What in the World?" (current events) and "Climbing Your Family Tree," among others.

Many classes change every five weeks to provide a wider variety of learning experiences. There are no attendance requirements, exams or grades.

MICL registration for the semester is $40, payable to MJC, with no limit to the number of MICL classes taken. Parking permits are $10 for the semester, and a $10 donation to the MICL is requested to help cover basic supplies.

For more information, call Community Education at (209) 575-6063, or Bill Sharp, MICL representative, at (209) 529-9440.
