Guns needed vs. wild critters

Regarding "Bobcat attacks man in garage" (Jan. 8, Page A-4): If this family had not had guns on their premises when the bobcat sprang out of nowhere from within their garage, they would not have been able to protect themselves. It sounds like at least two or more people would have likely died or been badly maimed.

Thank God the family owned a gun and the husband and wife were able to wrestle the bobcat to the ground and shoot him.

Our Founders were intelligent men who understood our need to protect our families from government tyranny, criminals and yes, wild animals, in 2013. That is why they passed the Second Amendment in the Bill of Rights. And that is why Americans will never relinquish our right to own guns for self-protection.
