Modesto police on lookout for drunken drivers

MODESTO -- Police will be looking for drunken drivers tonight with saturation patrols throughout Modesto.

The roving patrols from the Modesto police Traffic Unit are made up of officers assigned solely to look for drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The patrols are funded by a grant from the state Office of Traffic Safety. More patrols and a sobriety checkpoint have been scheduled for next weekend in Modesto.
