San Jose State senior safety James Orth, a graduate of Central Catholic, will take part in the Casino Del Sol All-Star Game, formerly known as the Blue-Gray Classic, tonight at Kino Stadium in Tucson, Ariz.
Orth logged 58 tackles, broke up four passes and had one interception during the Spartans' 11-win season. He totaled eight interceptions for his career.
Orth and two of his teammates will play for the West team, led by former SJS coach Dick Tomey. ESPN3 will televise the game at 6 p.m.
Nevada's 6-foot-7 tight end Zach Sudfeld, a graduate of Modesto Christian, parlayed his breakout senior year into an invitation to the 88th East-West Shrine Game.
It will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, at Tropicana Field in St. Petersberg, Fla.
Sudfeld, a sixth-year senior and a Nevada team captain, caught 45 passes for 598 yards and nine touchdowns, one of them on a fumble recovery. He capped his career with two touchdown receptions in the Wolf Pack's 49-48 loss to Arizona in the Gildan New Mexico Bowl.
