Nominations sought for Outstanding Women Awards

MODESTO -- Nominations are sought for the 2013 Stanislaus County Commission for Women Outstanding Women Awards.

The awards honor women who have made a meaningful contribution to the quality of life for all women and children: a pathfinder who began an important program or took on a challenging cause, women who have been first to achieve a significant accomplishment in their field, women who have been inspirational role models, female representatives in government who stand up for the issues of women and children.

Outstanding Women categories also include Women of History and Living Pioneers. Additionally, scholarship opportunities are available for Outstanding Young Women (high school seniors through age 24).

Nomination forms must be submitted by mail to SCCW, P.O. Box 4254, Modesto, CA 95352 or by e-mail to sccw01@gmail.com. They must be postmarked or e-mailed no later than Jan. 18; awards will be presented March 16.
